April 30, 2021
This April 2021, Ambereen K. Shaffie of Shaffie Law and Policy was published in a textbook for medical students and professionals, to be used in curricula throughout the country. Ms. Shaffie's chapter, International Institutions and Global Governance on Climate Change, covers the development of international treaties and governance systems focused on climate, ozone depletion and the environment.
Ms. Shaffie's focus on human health and climate issues is timely given the COVID-19 pandemic. She is the sole author of this chapter, which offers policy solutions to the most pressing issue in the environmental field.
In addition to this publication, in both 2019 and 2021 Ms. Shaffie taught a specific class within a Climate Medicine course (an elective course for fourth-year medical students) at the University of Colorado. The book is available on Amazon now for purchase.
